How does ordering coffee with AI work?
From the tablet on your table to the barista's screen: the journey of one order.
At Aivo, you order from the tablet on your table. Say what you'd like in your own words, or tap it on the menu. The AI turns what you said into a cart, you confirm it, and the order lands on the barista's screen.
1. Say it or tap it
Every table has a tablet. “An oat milk latte and a San Sebastian cheesecake” is all it takes. If you'd rather not talk, the menu is on the tablet too; tap to choose. The AI doesn't replace the menu; it makes ordering easier.
2. See the cart
What you said becomes a cart on the screen. The tablet tells you the prices, and if an option you chose changes the price, oat milk for example, it says so.
3. Confirm
Nothing that costs money is ordered until you confirm it. The AI prepares the cart; you have the last word.
4. The barista makes it
Your confirmed order goes straight to the barista's screen and joins the queue. The barista sees it with its recipe, and the screen shows how long each order has been waiting.
What does the AI talk about?
Aivo's AI is not a chatbot. It only talks about the menu, suggestions, orders and the cafe; ask it anything else and it politely returns to the menu.
One size at the table, a separate screen for takeaway
Drinks at the table come in one size. If you want your coffee to go, the cafe has a separate ordering screen for takeaway, and that is where you choose the size.
